Kearney runs four routes, Monday through Thursday, and your day depends on your address — recycling comes weekly, on the same day as trash. Carts need to be at the curb by 7:00 a.m., wheels against the curb, sitting five feet clear of cars and mailboxes, and under 80 pounds. The city also asks that you bag your trash before it goes in the cart.
Kearney observes six collection holidays — New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. When one lands on a weekday, collection runs one day late.
